The Fenton
About this venue
The Fenton is an independently owned pub on Woodhouse Lane, on the edge of Leeds city centre, serving craft ales and cider sourced locally. It started as a beer house around 1850 and was listed as a hotel in the early 1900s. In the 1970s it was a rallying point for Leeds' Rock Against Racism movement. CAMRA lists its interior as of special national historic interest, for its original layout and glazed corridor screen, and there's a rare Tetley lantern sign outside.
Gigs happen in the upstairs event room, which can be hired with a PA and a sound engineer. There's a jam night on Mondays, a quiz on Thursdays, and gigs and DJ nights on Fridays and Saturdays. The Fenton Kitchen serves burgers, sandwiches and fries with veggie and vegan choices, and there's a beer garden. The pub is strictly 18+, has a safer spaces policy and is dog friendly.
The main bar is up two steps, with a ramp that can be put down for wheelchairs. The beer garden and the upstairs event room can only be reached by stairs. The nearest car park is on Woodhouse Lane, and the nearest bus stops are Lodge Street, coming from the city, and Blackman Lane, coming from Headingley.
